Home to more than 27 million people, Malaysia is a multicultural society with Malays, Chinese and Indians as the main ethnic groups. This South-East Asian country is a melting pot of diverse races, religions, and ethnicities, translating into their local culture and traditions. In Malaysia, there is plenty of impressive architecture that is a true marvel to look at. Apart from modern buildings, such as the famous Twin Towers, Menara KLCC and The Exchange 106, Malaysia has other classical buildings throughout the countries, especially in places such as Klang, Taiping, Georgetown and the city of Malacca. There are churches, temples and mosques that have stood the test of time and are still open for practitioners today.

A proud multilingual community, up to 70% of Malaysians speak English. Malaysia’s official language is Malay, and English is their second official language. One does not need to worry about the language barrier - this makes travelling and conducting business in the country a smooth ride!

Famed Food Haven

You will be spoilt for choice with the variety of food we have in Malaysia! Inspired by unique flavours from all around Asia and Western countries, Malaysia has some of the most flavorful and colourful food choices. It is not uncommon to see food fusions, such as the Baba Nyonya cuisine, which has Chinese-European influences and can be traced back to the British colonial era. Street food and hawker stalls are also widely available throughout the country, and they come with an affordable price tag.

Malaysians are very much intact with their traditions and beliefs. Many locals still have generational businesses on handcrafted art, such as creating batik, metalwork designing, boatbuilding, wood carving, etc. The country heavily emphasizes on preserving the heritage, culture and art of the people. Traditions and culture are tremendously important to the economy as well, given how Malaysia’s large tourism industry contributes to the country’s GDP.

The country even made a list one of the world’s top ten places to retire in 2020.
