What are Commercial Properties?
Commercial property is real estate that is used for business activities or to generate profit, either from capital gain or rental income.
7 Types of Commercial Properties
Commercial property includes offices, shop lots, factories, hotels, industrial lands, agricultural lands and more.
1. Office
Most of the companies, either SMEs or MNCs, will base their offices in commercial office spaces to carry out daily administrative tasks. In Kuala Lumpur, high-rise office buildings are mostly seen while suburban office buildings generally include mid rise structures.
2. Shop Lot
A shop lot that comes in 2 storeys or more is typically used for business (retail, restaurants, education center, clinic, etc). Sometimes, the upper floors of the shop lots are used as residence. The price of commercial properties mostly are more expensive than residential properties.
3. Factory
A factory is usually consisting of buildings and machinery, where workers manufacture goods or operate machines processing one product into another. Hence, factories are usually located in industrial areas further away from cities or towns (e.g. Sungai Buloh, Shah Alam, Puchong, etc).
4. Warehouse
A warehouse is a commercial building for storage of goods - used by manufacturers, importers, exporters, wholesalers, logistics, customs, etc. They are usually large plain buildings in industrial areas of cities and towns.
5. Hotel
A hotel is an establishment which provides accommodation, along with services like food and beverage, conference halls, and other services for travellers and tourists.
The features may be its location, the number of guests room, special services such as concierge, travel assistance, laundry services, and valet parking while facilities such as specialty restaurants, bars, business meeting venues, swimming pools, and more.
6. Industrial Land
Industrial land is a piece of land used for industrial purposes such as manufacturing, processing plants, storage and so on. Normally, industrial land is usually placed in suburban areas.
7. Agricultural Land
Agricultural land is typically land used for agriculture which particularly to rear livestock and crop farming – to produce food. On the other hand, agricultural land is also purchased by people to build retirement homes, weekend retreats, resorts, orchards, nurseries, or just pure simple investment.
