Malaysians may enter Malaysia without prior approval from the Malaysian authorities.
Non-Malaysians may enter Malaysia without prior approval from the Malaysian authorities (i.e. MyTravelPass / MyEntry not required) effective on 1 April 2022.

Download the MySejahtera app and create an account
Fill-up the digital pre-departure form via the ‘Traveller’ icon on MySejahtera
Verify your digital COVID-19 vaccine certificate (for travellers with vaccine certificates issued overseas)
Take a pre-departure COVID-19 test within 2 days of departure
Purchase COVID-19 travel insurance (for short-term foreign visitors)
Professional rapid antigen test (RTK-Ag) within 24 hours of arrival
5 days quarantine for partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travellers
Download MySejahtera App
Travellers are required to download and activate the MySejahtera App (https://mysejahtera.malaysia.gov.my/intro_en/) before departure to Malaysia. Fill-in the Health Declaration Form and the Pre-Departure Form in the “Traveller” icon in the MySejahtera App before departure to Malaysia.
For Foreign Vaccination Records, travellers are required to apply for MySejahtera Vaccination Digital Certificate in the “Traveller” icon of the MySejahtera App five days before departure to Malaysia.
Covid-19 Testing & Quarantine in Malaysia
Fully-vaccinated travellers (above the age of 18 who have gotten a booster dose):
Pre-departure: RTK-Ag (professional) test 2 days before travelling. Negative RTK-Ag test result is a MUST. On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test at a facility or hotel within 24 hours. Test and quarantine after arrival: No test or quarantine required.
Fully-vaccinated travellers who were recently infected with COVID-19 within 60 days before departure:
Pre-departure: RTK-Ag (professional) test 2 days before travelling. Negative RTK-Ag test result is a MUST. On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test at a facility or hotel within 24 hours. Test and quarantine after arrival: No test or quarantine required.
Non-vaccinated travellers, due to medical reasons:
Pre-departure: A PCR test required, 2 days before travelling. Negative PCR test result is a MUST. On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test at a facility or hotel within 24 hours. Test and quarantine after arrival: No test or quarantine required, BUT results based on a case by case basis. Must present proof of medical exemption from vaccination.
Non-vaccinated or Partially vaccinated (18 years old and above):
Pre-departure: A PCR test required, 2 days before travelling. Negative PCR test result is a MUST. On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test at a facility or hotel within 24 hours. Test and quarantine after arrival: Quarantine for 5 days. PCR test on day 4 or RTK-Ag test on day 5.
Non-vaccinated (17 years old and below):
Pre-departure: A PCR test required, 2 days before travelling. Negative PCR test result is a MUST. On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test at a facility or hotel within 24 hours. Test and quarantine after arrival: No test or quarantine required.
Is insurance required for travel to Malaysia?
Yes. Travellers who are short-term visitors must purchase mandatory travel insurance with a minimum coverage of USD20,000 for COVID-19-related medical treatment and hospitalisation costs. And, travellers must carry an electronic or physical copy of their insurance policy to facilitate their entry into Malaysia.

Spouse (husband or wife) of a Malaysian citizen
Children of a Malaysian citizen
Long term (social) visit pass holder
Expatriate/payroll officers/resident officer
Foreign workers including foreign maids
Student pass holder
Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) residents with the duration of stay in Malaysia more than three (3) months
Do travellers need to apply for MyTravelPass (MTP) to travel to Malaysia?
No need to apply for MyTravelPass (MTP).
What documents do I need to prepare upon arrival in Malaysia?
At immigration, travellers must present to the immigration officer:
A valid national passport or internationally recognised travel document
A valid visa (for visa-required travellers)
Boarding pass
Traveller card display on MySejahtera app
